JP Morgan & Chase
JP Morgan & Chase is one of the biggest banks in the world and an organization this bigs uses a lot of software to sort and organize their assets. In this particular case, the project was to redesign an existing warehouse software called AS400 into a more user friendly UI.

Challenge
AS400 is a MS-DOS look-alike UI so they were in need to improve that system to a more graphic user interface and implement their robust design system into it as well as to their new trakker handheld devices.
My Role
My role was to get along with the team and stakeholders, got a brief on what were the next tasks and how to properly address them. A heuristic evaluation was executed to check for flaws on the existing new pages, this helped us to fix existing pages as well as set the foundations to improve the next ones.
There were certain tasks that needed additional items beside the existing ones, in these particular cases the teams gather up and discuss about how to add these new features without affecting the flow, keeping the learning curve at the minimum and improve the user experience.
Even though MDS was a robust design system, the project required for us to break apart some of its components and start working on the best solution around like a collapsable table row. This component didn't exist in their DS and we had to create it because after some research we determined that this was the best way to solve this problem.
Some of these screens were limited on size because they were made for an specific device: a Honeywell ® Handheld device. We couldn't properly test these screens because we didn't had the device but we were able to test in on our local browsers.
Prototype was created with Figma.
Final Thoughts
Working for huge companies with lots of moving parts may be a challenge, but with enough communication and hard work, this can be a pleasant experience. This was my first experience working on an inventory organization software and i was super thankful with JPMC team for all the insights and leaning that this project bring to my career.
